Flowers, Birds and Simon

One of my best friends from high school and I have re connected in the last few
months after a good 30 years or more I suppose. She came to see us where we were
staying and and invited us to visit her and her hubby, another old classmate,
the next day. She’s an avid gardener so I thought it would be fun to see her
gardens while visiting. Fortunately the guys hit it off so we left them to fend
for themselves and we were off and running around the place to look at her
flowers and take pictures while gabbing nonstop. In fact the guys got a good
laugh when Bob named us Motor Mouth and Gabby Hayes.
Their place is in a beautiful setting by the lake.
She does lots of container planting but I think it’s much warmer here than where I
am so she's able to do more.
More containers . . .

This Lily is very short but the bloom was huge.
Her Lithodora wasn’t affected by the week long cold snap we had this winter at all.
Mine (in 3 different places) turned completely black and I thought it died but
it’s slowly coming back to green and is blooming. My Mother’s did the same thing
and I’ve seen lots of other peoples around here that did also.
She has lots of Heucheras and different Hydrangeas.
Columbines

This looks like one I have called Cardinal Song.
